Take Your Yoga Business to the Next Level with ChatGPT
If you're not using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to skyrocket your yoga business growth, you're losing money
Take Your Business to the Next Level
Artificial Intelligence (AI) might seem as far away from yoga as it gets, but grab some tea and stay here for a few minutes. I swear, learning a bit about ChatGPT AI technology and what it can do for your business is worth your time.
And no, you don’t have to be a tech guru to appreciate what AI can do for your yoga business.
AI can help yoga teachers build and grow wildly successful yoga businesses. Yoga teachers can leverage chat bots like ChatGPT to fast-track business growth, plan marketing strategy, expand social media reach, conduct yoga business research, plan classes and retreats, devise yoga branding strategy, and even to develop a profitable yoga teaching niche.
What is ChatGPT?
Imagine one of those sci-fi movies where robots are smarter than humans and they take over the planet. Or worse, imagine the girl robot doll in the 2023 movie M3gan. Somehow like intelligent magic, the bots keep getting smarter and smarter, until eventually they outwit humans. That’s sort of the idea here with ChatGPT, though hopefully not quite to this extreme. At least not yet. ;)
Artificial Intelligence (AI). We’re talking machine learning here. Machines that can learn — and they keep learning, improving, and gaining knowledge. Rapidly.
ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence chatbot, a language model created by OpenAI, that is designed to generate human-like responses to natural language input. It generates responses to entered questions, among other tasks, and it actually learns and improves its output (responses).
For example, when I thought about writing this article, I decided to log in to ChatGPT and ask the following question: how can ChatGPT help me grow my yoga business?
ChatGPT very quickly generated several great ideas. I’m going to list some of the ideas below, but rather than copying and pasting the ChatGPT responses, I’m using my own words, my own voice, and also my own additional ideas. After all, I’m still human. And I love writing.
How Can ChatGPT Help Yoga Teachers Grow a Yoga Business
This is the wild part. ChatGPT can help yoga teachers grow their businesses in a number of ways and make more money so that teaching yoga is a sustainable career.
I’m going to list seven ways that I believe yoga teachers can benefit from this technology. But before I list the ways ChatGPT can help teachers with yoga business growth, it’s important to point out that yoga teachers shouldn’t overlook business basics.
Having a grasp on the nuts and bolts of launching, building, and growing a yoga business is helpful for sustainable growth, especially if you’ve recently graduated from a yoga teacher training (ytt) program or are a new teacher or new business owner just starting out.
There are many useful resources on point, including yoga business blogs and business books specifically for yoga teachers, such as those listed in Top 10 Best Business Books for Yoga Teachers.
7 Ways Yoga Teachers Can Use ChatGPT To Grow Their Yoga Business
Whether you are a brand new yoga teacher with a fresh teaching certificate in hand or are an experienced yoga instructor who is looking to increase annual revenue, leveraging ChatGPT can likely help you accelerate business growth.
Let’s get to it. Here’s how:
1. Yoga teachers can use ChatGPT with email marketing.
Email marketing is often considered an important part of business success. Yoga teachers who don’t have an email list, should seriously consider building one or growing an existing list. ChatGPT can help.
You can use ChatGPT to help generate ideas for email marketing, newsletters, newsletter content, or use the technology to write the newsletters themselves. For example, ChatGPT could help you come up with newsletter advice and tips for your readers, as well as provide you useful marketing ideas or insight based on knowledge of marketing strategies used successfully in other businesses.
2. Yoga teachers can use ChatGPT as a Virtual Assistant.
Now OpenAI gets full credit for this idea. Thanks to the artificial intelligence chatbot, I’ve been informed that yoga teachers can use ChatGPT as a virtual assistant. It makes a lot of sense. Using ChatGPT as a virtual assistant can save teachers time and money.
For example, yoga teachers can use ChatGPT to help with research, generating content ideas, creating templates, designing yoga class sequences, generating business leads, managing schedules, and learning about yoga topics.
Yoga teachers can also use ChatGPT to help with social media content creation, such as drafting often time consuming captions, content, and hashtag ideas.
3. Yoga teachers can use ChatGPT to expand their reach and visibility on social media platforms.
Yoga teachers can use ChatGPT to help grow on social network platforms. ChatGPT can help yoga teachers accomplish tasks faster, such as coming up with content ideas, content planning, writing social media captions, optimizing for keywords and search engines.
Social media loving yogis can also use ChatGPT to help produce hashtags, find trending beats or soundtracks, come up with ideas for YouTube videos, and learn useful hacks and tips for content creators and influencers.
4. Yoga teachers can use ChatGPT to plan yoga classes and yoga sequences.
Yoga teachers can use ChatGPT to come up with yoga class ideas, such as class themes, yoga sequences and postures, yoga music playlists, and ideas for classes, yoga workshops, or retreats. For example, a teacher could ask the chatbot to specifically help build or design a yoga sequence specifically for runners.
ChatGPT could also potentially help new yoga teachers discover their yoga niche and to research class ideas specific to that niche.
Of course, ChatGPT isn’t a substitute for a real yoga teacher, or their professional training and experience, but the technology could help take out some of the heavy, time intensive work that goes into designing and planning yoga classes.
5. Yoga teachers can use ChatGPT to create website or blog copy
ChatGPT has the potential to help yoga teachers efficiently develop website copy, blog posts, or content for landing pages. This can be especially useful for yoga teachers who want creative input, get stuck coming up with ideas, suffer from writer’s block, or lack writing confidence or skill.
6. Yoga teachers can integrate ChatGPT into yoga class booking or management systems.
Depending on a yoga teacher’s class booking system or other business management systems, such as calendars, feedback or reviews, ChatGPT might be integrated to help give yoga students and clients a better experience, such as by answering questions 24/7, providing chatbot support, or offering a more personalized experience based on user preferences.
7. Leverage ChatGPT for Marketing Purposes.
Yoga teachers can use ChatGPT to support their broader marketing efforts and goals. For example, ChatGPT can be useful to help identify industry and business trends. It can also potentially help to identify yoga student interests and behaviors. As well, yoga teachers could use ChatGPT to do market research, analyze trends, identify new marketing and business opportunities, and reach new yoga students and clients.
ChatGTP doesn’t replace yoga teachers or yoga business owners who need to think for themselves
ChatGTP isn’t perfect. The AI technology doesn’t replace a yoga teacher’s real world training, experience, expertise, or the practicalities and know-how of being a yoga business owner, like thinking and making sometimes difficult business decisions for themselves.
Plagiarism. As a word of caution, not everyone is going to think it’s cool if you cut and paste ChatGPT content and pass it off as your own. To illustrate this point, universities are already taking strong positions on ChatGPT and plagiarism, including Cambridge and Oxford. It’s entirely on you to figure out your own comfort, views about plagiarism and work product ownership, and ethics when it comes to directly using responses generated by ChatGPT.
Personally, I’ll look at ChatGPT as a resource, just as any other resource. If it’s not my own, I’m not going to copy and paste the entire source and claim it as my own work product — not even a small chunk. And, should I decide to ever use any response word-for-word, it would most definitely include proper attribution. But hey, this is just me. You do you.
Incorrect info, bias or inappropriate content. ChatGPT may not provide the most up-to-date information, and it could also potentially generate output that reflects bias or content that is inappropriate for use in a yoga business. Accordingly, yoga teachers should stay aware and not rely too heavily on responses without reviewing them closely, remembering that ChatGPT is artificial intelligence that can benefit business growth, but it doesn’t replace the teacher or business owner.
